WHAT TO EXPECT FOR A NEWBORN SHOOTING

 

A newborn baby is so pure, so soft, vulnerable, honest and infinitely full of love. My aim during a newborn session is to capture all of these sweet little features to create memories for you that you do not only love looking at but also feel with your heart.

 

Being a mom myself it is absolutely important for me that your little bundle of joy feels save and well cared for through the whole shooting, after all not so long ago he/she was well protected in your belly growing with the sweet sound of your heartbeat. 

Therefore I let your baby guide me through the session giving her/him all that she/he needs, including mommy time while nursing or being fed as well as skin to skin when she/he is unsettled.

I only use poses that your baby is meant to be in and I am never pushing your baby in any unnatural looking poses nor make her/him feel uncomfortable. This results in totally natural and wonderfully authentic looking newborn photographs that will make you remember your baby just the way she/he is with her/his own little gestures and already strong and sweet personality.

 

As parents you are your babies whole world and you are the ones who she/he is not only depending on

but who really make her/him feel save and loved. 

For me this love is something enormously precious and therefore so important to capture. Photographs with you in it will not only be nice to have but they will make you remember how it really felt like to feel your little love on your skin, feel her/his little heart beat, how soft her/his skin was and how amazingly good she/he smelled. 

 

In my newborn sessions I therefore never miss a chance to capture those intimate moments in between, like cuddling your baby, giving her/him a sweet caress and of course nursing your little love. This pictures are included in every newborn shooting since they really do tell the whole story of your new adventure full of love. 

 

 

WHAT IS PROVIDED?

 

All of babies clothes, props and accessories are provided by me. 

I also have a nice and very flattering wardrobe accessible for you, mommy.

 

My style is organic timeless and soft where natural components such as wooden props and dried grasses and flowers, neutral color tones, such as cream white and beige are the base of all my setups. Those color tones are very pleasing to the eye and remain always beautiful in themselves but upon request a variety of either pastel or bold vintage tones can be added to these soft natural base tones.

 

 

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO HAVE A NEWBORN SHOOTING?

 

A newborn session normally takes place in the first 14 days of your babies life. This is the time where she/he is still very sleepy, flexible and peaceful, making the workflow during the session as stressless and smooth as possible. 

 

 

HOW LONG DOES A SESSION TAKE?

Since I am working with your baby and her/his needs to make the time spent here as comfortable as possible, newborn photo shootings can take around 2-3 hours.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

 

As I always say: it is all about love in my photos…you as mommy and daddy, will therefore play a big part in the story that unfolds in your lovely pictures. 

This being said, a matching outfit for you and your husband harmonising with my base colours (cream and beige) or your theme colour, is always the right choice to make your pictures 

really stand out. 

A nice manicure is also important since your hands will be holding and tenderly touching your sweet baby.

As for your baby you only need a change of clothes, lots of diapers and cleaning wipes, a little blanket, some burp cloth and of course babies food.

HOW CAN I PREPARE BEFORE THE SHOOTING?

 

Relax and bring a lot of love and everything will just be fine. 

It is always helpful to feed (and burp) your little one right before you come to me, just to make sure that your little sweetheart is comfortable and sleepy at the beginning of the session. A nice bath before you come can also go a long way. 

 

Every child is different and no session is like the one before but every and each 

one of them is absolutely wonderful. 

Some babies love and need to be swaddled, some don’t, some sleep while other’s explore the world and some may only feel happy feeling your touch. 

 

Always remember babies are babies and we have to work with what they are willing to give us and turn it into something beautiful to remember for evermore.

AFTER YOUR SHOOTING

 

Now is the time where my vision truly comes to life by editing your pictures into the sweet love story I saw behind my lens.

 

To match my style portrayed here on my website I alter the colours accordingly to my artistic needs and clean babies skin only and solely from all the fleeting imperfections that may have ocurred (baby acne, redness, jaundice…birth marks and some skin peeling will not be removed since they are a part of your babies cute and unique features) and of course I also give mommy and daddy a little love without changing or altering what is given to you by nature. 

 

I will carefully make a selection of every sweet and lovely picture to edit and discard the ones that are not up to my artistic and professional standards. (Only edited (!) .jpg files will be provided)

There is a minimum of 15 digital images guaranteed, which will be edited simultaneously in colour and black and white. 

 

I will also be setting up your private and password protected online gallery for which you will get a link to download all your edited pictures once they are ready.

 

Albums and prints can be ordered separately at additional costs after the shooting.
